MAKING MONEY MAKE CHANGE
THIS CONFERENCE IS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH WEALTH WHO WANT TO BE PART OF BUILDING A WORLD IN WHICH WEALTH, LAND, AND POWER ARE EQUITABLY SHARED.
Making Money Make Change (MMMC) is a unique multi-day gathering that supports young people with access to wealth and class privilege to embrace their role in building a more equitable future. The conference includes offerings such as plenaries on racial capitalism and the lineage of young people’s wealth accumulation; workshops on transformative fundraising and organizing; and community & culture-building activities that seek to sustain young people with wealth/class privilege in movement work.
MMMC 2025 will be hosted from November 13-16, 2025, at Hotel Santa Fe in Santa Fe, NM. The venue is 100% owned by the Picuris Pueblo and located on the homelands of many Indigenous nations, including the Tewa, Keres, Towa, and Tiwa Pueblos, the Ute, the Apache, the Diné, and the Comanche. By choosing to host our event on this land, we recognize that the majority of our participants are settlers and visitors. We intend to arrive with humility, curiosity, and a devotion to our vision of a future in which Indigenous people have sovereignty over their land. Resource Generation stands behind that vision with our resources and our organizing power.
MMMC is designed with the belief that personal transformation is possible, and collective action is necessary. MMMC is open to people who are just beginning to explore questions related to wealth and social equity, and those who have grappled with these questions for some time. Together, we hope to build a community that can overcome multi-generational patterns of the racial wealth divide in the United States, and embrace each of our roles in building a world that offers housing, safety, and healing for all.
“In this political moment, only hope can combat the temptation of shutting down. Being at MMMC was the most hopeful I’ve felt in a long time.”
THROUGHOUT THE CONFERENCE, PARTICIPANTS WILL SUPPORT, CHALLENGE, AND INSPIRE EACH OTHER TO ALIGN THEIR RESOURCES WITH THEIR VALUES.
WHO ATTENDS MMMC?
A whole range of people come to MMMC! Participants are individuals ages 18-35 who have access to current, future, family, or earned wealth. Their wealth comes from a variety of sources and circumstances.
MMMC is always a multi-class space. The programming is designed for young people (18-35) with wealth and partners of young people with wealth; however, social justice movement leaders, Resource Generation staff, and other presenters from various class backgrounds are present and a vital part of MMMC. It’s a great opportunity to practice healthy cross-class dynamics.

“I feel like I have MUCH more resources after MMMC in terms of how to give and bring my parents into a giving schedule for the next year”
IS THIS GATHERING FOR ME?
MMMC offers a confidential environment to uncover your personal relationship to wealth and be inspired by different ways to take action that are aligned with your values and communities.
- Do you have, or expect to come into, inherited wealth?
- Do you have wealth that you earned (or are earning) through your career?
- Are you a person of color with wealth who wants to connect with others who have a shared experience?
- Are you the partner of someone with wealth and navigating shared decision-making around wealth redistribution?
- Do you want to explore how different aspects of identity affect your relationship and access to wealth, such as race, gender, sexuality, and ability?
- Do you want to amplify your impact by working collectively with other young people with wealth toward an equitable distribution of wealth, land, and power?
- Are you ready to stop trying to hide your class privilege and start leveraging it for economic, racial, and social justice?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then MMMC is for you!

MMMC REGISTRATION FEES
MMMC tickets are on a sliding scale. We encourage all participants to reflect on your true capacity, and pay accordingly. The full cost of each MMMC 2025 participant—which includes ten meals and single-occupancy lodging for three nights—is approximately $2,800. After factoring in the membership dues that subsidize MMMC, the full cost rate is approximately $2,100. If you cannot pay this rate, you are still welcome at MMMC! If you can pay this rate or higher, we strongly encourage you to do so! This enables us to have a multi-racial, cross-class convening in which folks with less class privilege and the Indigenous communities who make the event possible are well-compensated for their labor and hospitality.

“I feel at home at MMMC in a way I didn’t know was possible. I’m so glad I took the plunge to attend.”
MMMC AND ACCESSIBILITY
Our conference venue, Hotel Santa Fe, is an ADA compliant facility. We are taking Covid safety precautions, and also strive to keep a low scent environment for those with chemical sensitivities. Please note any specific access needs in your MMMC application form and we will strive to accommodate your requests.

DO YOU IDENTIFY AS A YOUNG PERSON OF COLOR WITH WEALTH?
Historically, MMMC has been a majority-white space, reflective of the racial wealth divide within the United States. At the same time, we know that there are people of color with wealth and class privilege committed to organizing toward racial and economic justice.
The conference will be a multi-racial space with people who have experience in philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, and movements for change. We hope to create intentional space for first-time MMMC participants who are people of color to build community with other people of color. Though participants’ stories and experiences are unique and varied, there is a common interest in using resources in support of progressive social change.
DO YOU IDENTIFY AS A PARTNER OF A YOUNG PERSON WITH WEALTH?
MMMC welcomes partners of people with wealth who are experiencing or have experienced poverty, working-class, or middle-class. Through their relationships, partners can find themselves as class straddlers with increasing access to wealth. MMMC is most appropriate and relevant for partners who have interdependent finances and, thus, some level of access to wealth, or influence over financial decisions. Chosen family members who are involved in financial decision-making may also benefit from attending MMMC.
