Peatmoss E.

Midwest Regional Organizer

Peatmoss (they/them) is from Peoria, Illinois, and just loves the Midwest. They have been living in Michigan for the last 10 years and feel deeply rooted in place. For the last 6 years, they have been involved with the Daytime Warming Shelter of Washtenaw County, an abolitionist homeless shelter. During the George Floyd Uprising in Detroit, they helped coordinate the Collective Defense Committee with support from the National Lawyers’ Guild. They were charged with RICO in the movement to Stop Cop City in Atlanta.

In their free time, they love caring for farmed animals at a local animal sanctuary, going on little walks with friends, and cooking huge amounts of vegan food.
